Watercolor Painting

I haven't given up yet on watercolor.  This is my latest painting.  I'm having fun but so much to learn.

I won a book by Roxanne Padgett

I never win anything, I always say, but I finally did win something.  Roxanne Padgett's new book "Acrylic Techniques in mixed media".  It is fabulous.

Check it out at Amazon books.  Click on link below.

The recipes were from Food and Wine magazine.

Journal Pages

The following journal pages are from a class taught by Dina Wakley.  I love her style.  In the class I was only able to get the backgrounds and a few elements attached to my pages, but finished them  later.  The class was on color theory so alot of time was spent learning how to mix colors and make journal pages pop.  Dina has a new book out called "Art Journal Freedom".  It's fabulous.

21 Secrets Workshops 2013

I have joined the "21 Secrets Workshops" for 2013.  The first workshop I completed is "Doodling Our Way" by Cathy Bluteau.  This was so much fun.  Cathy is a fabulous instructor.  If you like having something to motivate you to keep up with your art journaling, join the workshops.  So many new ideas.

Making Greeting Cards

Getting together with friends to create makes for a special time.  I had to take the photos because my husband got such a kick out of the sucker sticks hanging froms our lips that he was going to snap one if I didn't.  As you can see I'm not in the photo.  Marge is hiding on the left, just her nose poking out, Sandy by the window and Ann on the right.

 Di posed for her photo.

These are the cards I made using scraps from my huge scrap container.

Journal Cover

I completed my Strathmore Journal last week.  This is the cover I made for it. The background paper was made when I was playing with my gelli plate and used the paper for blotting off the excess paint.  The pitcher was cut from a magazine page, flowers were diecut, border was washi tape.
